• Use microdermabrasion scrub to gently exfoliate every other day two weeks prior to treatment and moisturize every day. Or schedule a microdermabrasion & moisturizing treatment with us.
• It is recommended that sun protection of SPF 30-50 be used daily for at least 2 weeks prior to the Plasma Lift treatment(s).
• It is also recommended to start taking Vitamin C or supplement that we will recommend 2 weeks before and after treatment to aid in the skin's healing process.
• Depending on your needs, Microneedling and or red light therapy may be recommended to enhance plasma lift results.
• Skincare products with ingredients such as retinols, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), tretinoin or any type of Vitamin A derivatives should be avoided two weeks prior to treatment as well as two weeks post-treatment.
• Please come to your appointment with clean face, free of makeup and moisturizers.
• If you have a history of cold-sores, please take your medication three days before and three days following treatment or as directed by your doctor.
• Photographs will be taken by the specialist "before and after" treatment as well as at a later date for comparison.
• If you have tendency to get cold, bring a blanket with you just in case you get cold.
• It is recommended to not wear contact lenses if we are treating the eye area. Contacts may be put in after treatment, but glasses are recommended in case you have excessive swelling.

• Anything that touches the treated area must must be CLEAN! Fingers, ice packs, towels, gauze, pillow case, etc
• The mild sunburn feeling most people have following the procedure should resolve within 12-48 hours. If your skin feels really uncomfortable, an anti-inflammatory (Advil) or an antihistamine (Benadryl) can be taken.
• It is normal to have some swelling, especially in more delicate skin like the eyes. Swelling can last anywhere from 2-4 days depending on how you tend to heal, and ice may be used to reduce swelling. A frozen bag of peas works very well wrapped in a clean cloth. Do not apply ice directly on to the skin as this can cause damage to the tissue.
• If you receive a treatment anywhere on face, neck, we recommend you sleep on your back with head elevated to reduce swelling.
• Do not cleanse the treated area until the following day DO NOT GET THE TREATED AREA WET OR TAKE A SHOWER, however, begin applying the home care later that day or night, use 2-3X per day with a cotton round using a very gentle movement for 10-15 days after the procedure.
• NO exercise for 48 hours after the treatment or expose yourself to any heat, steam or sweat.
• Swimming and sauna activities are only permitted 2 weeks post treatment and once all the crusts have fallen off the skin.
• As your skin begins to heal, the carbon will emerge from the skin and those dots will feel bumpy, dry, and possibly itchy. These crusts will flake off 5-8 days later.
• DO NOT PICK or scratch the crusting as it can lead to infection or scarring. It is important to keep this area clean and dry.
• Make sure to sleep on a CLEAN  pillowcase and do your best to sleep in a way that the treated area will not be rubbed during sleep.
• After the crusts fall off ON THEIR OWN, pink/red skin will be left behind. This can last 4-6 weeks.
• Regular makeup can be applied AFTER crusts have completely fallen off.
• The area that has been treated must NOT be covered with occlusive dressing or any type of sunblock, makeup, mascara, creams or any other products until the area has fully healed.
• Use SPF 30-50 sunscreen lotion daily once the crusts fall off for at least 3-4 months post treatment. Daily use is encouraged to prevent signs of aging.
• DO NOT use alcohol-based cleansers, as this will slow down the healing process.
• You must wait 12 weeks for another treatment to allow for proper healing.

Since body procedures tend to cover a larger area than facial procedures, you need a little extra after care products for the body. The use of these after care products is the same as on the face and neck. Since it is pretty impossible to keep body parts dry for 2 weeks, care for these part is crucial. Crusting tends to last longer on the body and not come off as easily, make sure to follow these advice:

• Wear loose-fitting clothing until the carbon crusts come off on their own.
• NO PICKING!
• No submerging the area in water, but showering is ok after 24 hours.
• No bubble baths, saunas, hot tubs, etc. until crusts come off.
• NO SCRUBBING the treated area in the shower, and keep it out of the full pressure of the shower water. If water runs down the treatment area, it should be ok.
• Try to keep soap and body washes off of treated area.
• Keep showers as short as possible! We need that skin to stay as dry as possible for as long as possible.
• After showing, PAT the area dry with a clean towel and apply after care products as instructed.
• Working out is ok after 48 hours. If the treated area gets sweaty, gently rinse the area with water post workout and apply after care.
