DMK Enzyme Therapy (Clinical Treatment)
Enzyme Therapy is personal training for your skin. Every enzyme therapy session is customized just for YOUR skin!
What is the Enzyme Therapy treatment?
In a nutshell, Enzyme Therapy is a powerful, change producing treatment that is customized and focused specifically for your goals and skin conditions. Under the Enzyme Therapy umbrella, there are many targeted treatments and programs for all skin conditions. This isn’t a treatment that's the same each time, in fact, it’s typical to not have the same treatment twice in a row. It is about customization and results-driven treatments through various exfoliants, enzyme masks, and treatment products. Customization is key because no two conditions are the same. The star of the treatment is the enzyme mask. This enzyme treatment helps with wrinkles, acne, pigmentation, rosacea and melasma. The mask which consists of transfer-messenger enzymes, is applied to the face, neck and decollete and remains on the skin for 45 minutes, it conditions and activates the deep layers of your skin and works with your body’s natural chemistry to re-educate the skin.Thinking of your skin as a “factory”, what you see on the outside is a direct result of what the "factory" is producing. Enzyme Therapy helps to correct imbalances in the skin and change what the "factory" is producing, restoring skin to function optimally and create real changes in your skin.
What does it do?
Removes excess dead cell build-up. This is a big contributor to how the skin looks, feels, and is able to function. This is key to successfully changing and improving the quality of your skin.
Builds up the skin. The enzyme mask penetrates below the skin's surface to rebuild structural integrity and revitalize the skin at a cellular level. After the enzyme mask is applied, it will harden significantly and create a pulling and pulsating effect. These are the enzymes hard at work creating reverse osmosis, a back flushing process that forces fluid through the membranes around the cells flushing out impurities, toxins, and free radicals. Cells are encouraged to function and stay healthier longer to produce younger, well-functioning skin.
Brings fresh, oxygenated blood flow to your skin through circulation to produce better functioning tissue and to supremely nourish the skin.
What conditions can it help?
This world-class skin revision treatment works at a cellular level to dramatically change imbalances in the skin and is beneficial to all skin conditions. Here's just some on the conditions Enzyme Therapy can help address:
How often should I get Enzyme Therapy?
While this is the very best treatment, this is not a one-time type of treatment. Amazing results are yielded from commitment. A treatment plan will be discussed at your first Enzyme Therapy appointment and depending on your skin’s condition can range from monthly treatments to a bi-weekly series of 6-12 treatments, followed by monthly maintenance. Series are recommended to provide the very best results.A commitment to at home DMK skincare products is also a must (I can work with your budget). At home skin products will not only help to maintain your results, but they work together with treatments to produce the very best results. Circling back to enzyme therapy being like personal training...the treatments are like your workouts, but the daily use of home products are your healthy diet. They work hand in hand.
What can I expect after the Treatment?
After the treatment, your skin can appear pink, red, or blotchy. This is typical after the mask is removed and will quickly disappear within 20-30 minutes. This is completely normal and is the result of the blood flow circulation initiated by the mask which was bringing oxygenated blood and nutrients to the skin, bringing it to a healthy, balanced state. Please note that sensitivity, redness, or dryness can be experienced after your first enzyme treatment. This is not typical in most cases but can be experienced. This is commonly just a response to activating the skin to function normally, so these sensations arising from challenging the skin are normal.
Can I get this treatment if I get Botox or Fillers?
Yes, but you will need to wait TWO WEEKS after having any injectables (botox, restylane, juvederm, etc.) before you can receive an enzyme therapy treatment. It is suggested to get your facial treatments performed before your botox or filler appointment.

Can I have DMK Treatment & not use DMK Home Prescriptive products & vice versa?
DMK’s concept of REMOVE, REBUILD, PROTECT and MAINTAIN utilises our signature Enzyme Therapy treatments to encourage the revision and rebuilding of new more optimally functioning cells for healthier younger-looking skin. Our Home Prescriptive products then enhance, protect and maintain these results. Only having treatments and not using products or vice versa means we cannot guarantee the incredible results that are possible.
How long will the results of one DMK Enzyme Therapy will last?
After your DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment you can expect the beautiful glow, silky texture, and juicy plump appearance to last on average, a minimum of one week. With consistent treatments and use of your DMK Home Prescriptive products, the longevity of your results increases extensively. Once we have achieved your skin goals, as your DMK Skin Technician, I will adjust your skin regime to a maintenance program to ensure you keep the results you have achieved.
Why is my skin breaking out after the treatment?
It is perfectly normal to experience breakouts after DMK treatments, though they are not causing them. This is a process we call ‘purging’, which is when our treatments release underlying congestion trapped deep down within the pores and pushes it up to the surface. We see this is a positive response as we are waking up skin functions that were not working optimally. We want to encourage purging as part of the REMOVE phase of the DMK concept. With consistent treatments and use of your DMK Home Prescriptive products these breakouts will clear up as quickly as possible.
I had an Enzyme Therapy treatment & my skin feels dry & tight. Why is this and What do I need to rectify it?
This is perfectly normal! Post treatment dryness is due to the stimulation of the enzymes in your skin that are responsible for controlling the natural exfoliating process as well as the increase of the hydration levels in your skin. Dead cells that have been caked onto the surface of your skin unable to lift away, are now finally beginning to shed away resulting in the skin feeling slightly tight and dry. Your DMK Skin Revision Technician will advise you on the proper post treatment care.
What is the plasmatic effect/red marks/ visible red veins after an Enzyme Therapy treatment?
If you have had a crisscross of red veins appear where your Enzyme Masque was after a treatment that is fantastic! It means that your capillaries have been flushed of toxins and the blood has been loaded up with fresh oxygen and nutrients to deliver to your skin cells. DMK calls this the Plasmatic EffectTM and it is a great way to determine how optimally your skin is functioning. The stronger the Plasmatic EffectTM the healthier your skin! It does not hurt, nor does the skin experience any change in temperature due to the Plasmatic EffectTM. Usually about 10-20 minutes after a treatment the Plasmatic EffectTM will disappear entirely, leaving you with post Enzyme glowing skin!
Does DMK use parabens and/or sulphates on their products?
Yes, we do use parabens and sulphates as preservatives. It is important to note however that the quantities and the types of the preservatives DMK uses are safe and not going to cause detrimental side effects to the body. The preservative level DMK uses is under 1% and this is to ensure the shelf life of the formulation. This small amount of natural parabens and sulphates are anti-microbial, antibacterial & antifungal, and are effective protective agents for both the consumers and products.
Is DMK natural or organic?
DMK uses 99% active botanical ingredients, which need to be carefully preserved. That is why DMK uses 1% chemical preservatives in some of the formulations because they are the most stable and safest to use for both the consumer and the products. Therefore, DMK is not 100% organic.
Does DMK test on animals?
No. DMK skin care invests in independent testing of all our formulations prior to the formulation being available for purchase at DMK Skin Revision Clinics in Australia and New Zealand.
Is DMK suitable for vegans?
DMK is predominantly botanical based however, some of our products and treatment formulations do contain fish oils as well as albumen, a product derived from eggs. Your DMK Skin Revision Technician will be able to discuss with you which Home Prescriptive products and treatments will be suitable for you. As a guide though, the following products and treatments are not suitable for vegans: Acu Cream and Herbal Pigment Oil both contain Cod liver oil. Our EFA's oil is vegan, however it is encapsulated in a fish gelatine. DMK’s Enzyme Therapy treatments contain albumen, a product derived from eggs, in their formulations.
